Located on the Atlantic front in the region of Lagoa, on the island of São Miguel, this two-story house serves as a second home for the owners. The project involves demolishing the existing structure and building a new house, where the basalt stone from the island plays a central role in integrating the house with the landscape, combining a contemporary design with the materials and textures of the Azorean territory.

The structure is designed with highly efficient construction solutions, ensuring excellent thermal and acoustic performance. The interior layout is aimed at optimizing fluidity between spaces, maximizing natural light and promoting effective cross-ventilation, while minimizing the presence of closed circulation areas. This concept not only enhances the sense of space but also creates various visual perspectives, both inside and in relation to the surrounding landscape, highlighting the views of the ocean and the integration with the environment.

The project respects the morphology of the land and establishes a subtle dialogue between architecture and nature, creating a refuge-like space where formal simplicity blends with the sophistication of details, perfectly in tune with the Azorean landscape.
